Volunteer with Ayıntap + For university students DON'T READ HISTORY, WRITE IT.
Together, we're writing the encyclopedia of Gaziantep.
Ayıntap is a cultural project exploring Gaziantep's history, culture and cuisine in Turkish and English, with more languages on the way. We're growing our team and looking for university students to join the founding crew: people who write, shoot, edit, design and translate.

Manifesto
Not a website,
a way of life.
We don't see Ayıntap as just a website or a social media account. We write Gaziantep, draw it, film it and wear it, and we're growing that style together. Come write, draw and create with us to tell this city's story, and become part of our family.
In writing
Understated storytelling that sparks curiosity, in more than one language.
On screen
Short videos that show Gaziantep through a young, contemporary lens.
On the street
With a style of our own, we carry the Ayıntap spirit onto the streets.
What do you love doing?
Volunteering with Ayıntap isn't just about writing blog posts. Pick one area or several, and we'll learn the rest together.
Write
Research the story behind a dish or a building, and write blog posts about Gaziantep.
Shoot
Take photos and short videos in bazaars, caravanserais and kitchens. Your phone will do.
Edit
Turn footage into short videos for Reels, TikTok and Shorts.
Design
Create social media graphics, covers, posters and infographics.
Translate
Translate and subtitle; carry the meaning, not just the words.
Explore
Visit museums, exhibitions and workshops; find master craftspeople, local spots and untold stories.
Spot trends
Keep up with trends and the culture scene, and pitch fresh content ideas.
Social media
Plan posts, talk with our followers and help look after the community.
+ Your talent
Code, voice-over, illustration… If it isn't on the list, tell us in the form.
Out on the streets
We've got our own style.
We cover Gaziantep on the ground, from the bazaars and caravanserais to the museums and the dinner table. The Ayıntap T-shirt and cap are the team's signature look: our volunteers get them, and together we carry the same spirit onto the streets.
Become part of our family.

On screen
Camera's rolling.
Two of the short videos we've shot in Gaziantep. For more, follow us on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok; we use the same username on all three.

Got questions?
Who can apply?
University students and recent graduates. You don't have to be from Gaziantep; if you love this city and you're interested in culture, art or creating content, there's a place for you on the team.
I have no experience. Is that OK?
Yes. You'll start with a guide and editorial feedback. In the form, tick the areas that interest you, even if you haven't tried them yet.
How much time will it take?
You decide which areas you work in and how much time you give each week, and you note this in the form. Tasks are flexible: during exam periods, just let us know.
Do I need to be in Gaziantep?
No. Writing, translation, design and video editing can be done remotely; field shoots take place in Gaziantep.
What happens to what I create?
Once it has been through editorial review, it's published on Ayıntap under your name.
Is it paid?
No. Ayıntap is a non-commercial cultural project run on a volunteer basis.
GAZIANTEP'S STORY ISN'T OVER.
